  • First, highlight the cell the format you want to copy

  • Now, click on the Format Painter icon (find it in the Home tab, left corner)

  • So, a paintbrush will come to replace the cursor. Using the cursor, select the cells you want to copy the formatting.

  • Next, double-click on the format painter icon to copy the format. You can paste the copied formatting anywhere in the workbook just by clicking the paste icon or using Ctlr + V shortcut.

  • Lastly, you can press ESC to get rid of the paintbrush cursor.

Hide Data in Workbook

Hide a column

  • The source box will come next, click that too.

  • Click and drag the cursor to the cell range where you want to create the drop-down. If the source box displays the right cell range then click OK.

  • Apply the Format Painter to copy the format into other cell ranges where you want the Drop-Down menu.
